Roof Collapse: Apollo Theater Belvidere IL

The Apollo Theater in Belvidere Illinois had a roof collapse during a performance tonight. 20 ambulances on scene. No word about injuries yet.

There were severe storms in the area. High winds, heavy rain, hail, and possibly tornadoes. No tornado confirmed at this point. Officials are currently saying 26 injured one dead.

Sad situation indeed. Tornadic winds, maybe a 'real' tornado. It's heartbreaking.

If you have roof drains, make sure they're cleared of debris periodically. I've seen a couple of situations where water pooling on a flat roof has caused problems.

We went to check ours once, apparently it had been a while as there was (somehow) a fish swimming around. 60 feet up.
