Conventional Fixtures S4 lens identification

I've come across some older S4 lenses while cleaning out an older theater where I work. Not sure why they were taken out of their lens tubes, but they were in a box with some empty tubes as well as other S4 parts, so I'm fairly certain they belong in S4's. Most of them were stored carefully enough, unscratched and in good condition.

The lenses do not have the usual colored dots on them to identify their field angle. Is their any other way to identify them, and to identify their orientation in the lens tube? Also, have there been any revisions to the S4 lens design over the years? The loose parts found with these (older style barrels, etc...) would indicate that these are from an early manufacturing run. Would any revisions to their design keep these older lenses from being used in more recent tubes?

I use to just hold them over something and measure the focal length. No magic - just lenses. Compare them to known ones and make a little scale or strip with markings.
