Control/Dimming Strand MX - Midi note to ArKaos VJ?

I wish to send a MIDI signal to an ArKaos patch from a Strand MX 24.

I reviewed the MX Manual and it does have midi out capability.

I would want to do something similar to this.

Press bump one on the MX... sequence one on ArKaos comes up... press the bump again... the sequence disengages.

Press and hold bump two on the MX... sequence two on ArKaos comes up... release it the sequence disengages.

I have a USB to MIDI interface (edirol)... I have not tried it on the MX yet.
