A method of terminating wire rope in which a metal sleeve is placed over the rope ends and compressed with a specially made swaging tool. This compression permanently fuses the two metals together under pressure. When done properly, wire rope terminated in this fashion is said to maintain 100% of the efficiency of the rope, as opposed to having to derate it as you do with other forms of termination.
