Turning on a lamp w/ actor's head inside

Hello everyone.

I'm working on a new theatrical production (low budget) and there is a moment when an actor is dressed as a lamp. I wonder if anyone has any idea to turn on the lamp (the actor will have his head inside the cone). I think he could turn on a flashlight, but I don't know whether the effect would be satisfactory.

That should work, provided that you get a fairly strong flashlight (so that the light that it's giving off will read under stage lights) and that you diffuse the light so that it lights the shade evenly.

I'm thinking about Rope Lights . . .

Alternatively , if you could get the actor to come up with a Great Idea to get the light to come on ?

Perhaps you could try using a few of those bicycle strap-on LED head lights?
