Hello all,
The high school I work for is putting on a production of Hairspray in a couple months and I'm trying to source a broken vintage microphone, something like a Shure 55, to be gutted and used as a prop. Why broken? Because I don't want to give the students a working vintage microphone, I also don't want to pay for a working vintage microphone and possibly have the actors break it. My plan is to use the shell for looks, and embed a lavalier microphone in the body. Is this a bad idea? Does anyone know where I can find such a broken microphone.
Thanks,
Marcos
