Why hire professionals? Here's why.

What Rigger?

I'm so fly....I Neverland.
Okay kidz, here's me preaching on my fave topic again- safety. I just stumbled onto this again, and remembered what a great example it is when put into this context:
Watch this video, below. Now realize that my buddy Bill, in the camo pants, is not only a flying director with years of experience and an ETCP cert'ed rigger, and a former US Army paratrooper (so yes, he really does know how to hurt you in hand-to-hand combat like you see here) AND that this is all being done at only half-speed.

Also: I'm pretty sure Paul Rubin is operating this rig.

Then think about how easy it would be, if only due to a moments lapse of concentration by anyone, for alllllll of this to go horribly wrong.

Do you reeeally wanna go the cheap route on flying, rigging, or safely staging any kind of a fight?

I'm just sayin'....

For just a split second, I wondered why PeeWee Herman would be operating a flying rig.
(yup, I know it's "Rubens" and sorry for the hijack!)

Oh god, he HATES that! lol
