Tom McCormick, 59, reportedly fell about five feet off a stage and struck his head on the concrete floor. He died of his injuries Nov. 4, according to WSAZ-TV.
SMG Huntington called McCormick “a beloved and respected member of the International Associate of Stage & Theatrical Employees and a long-term SMG employee,” in a statement. “Speaking for the entire SMG family, we wish to extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to Tom’s family, friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
I wonder what the percentage is of under six feet? The last OSHA report I saw (and this was more than 4 years ago...but I'm sticking with it), stated that 80% of all falls reported in the workplace over 6 feet were fatal.
