Hi Guys, I'm someCKguy! I'm a high school student in Australia and I sometimes volunteer for my school's light team. I also sometimes do lighting for my friend, who writes and directs musicals himself.
I'm quite new to lighting, and am only just starting to learn a bit more about it (I've done a big one act play production as a spot op, which is about all the experience I have, and I'm currently lighting designer for a musical that my friend is making. I've only ever used a lighting desk once before this musical (However I've been a followspot op for a one act play and I've used a computer to run lighting for a school disco), but through spending hours watching youtube videos and reading lighting board manuals I've learned a bit about lighting. But honestly, nothing compares to the experience of using a real lighting desk.
I'm looking forward to being a part of this community and if you guys have any advice for an aspiring lighting 'guy' or just wanna say hi please leave a comment
Have a nice day
