Control/Dimming LED Decoders stops working until turned off and on again. We're all stumped.

Sounds like you are pulling too much power on the led tape. You have reached the limit of the output of the controller, which is 72A, or 3A a channel. The controller can handle a maximum of 864 watts at 12v. You should be capping this at 80% of the maximum output. You do have a 1000w power...

    Rosco I-Cue

I’m using black frames, got up on a ladder tonight and it’s the only one that was put in forward frame. The reflection is coming off of the gel, not the frame.

    Rosco I-Cue

A question I would love to ask is what frame do others load their I-cue in on a source 4? The one closest to the fixture, or furthest away? I only ask this as sometimes I notice a reflection happening off of the gel frame from the mirror when I am tipped up.

    Conventional Fixtures Lamp Failure/What's This?

Hey ship, would you happen to have a link for the Osram pdf? I wasn't too sure whereabouts on their website it would be located.

    Radiance Hazer Problem

First check that you have RDM turned off on that line of DMX. Make sure your address is correct, and make sure it is terminated. Test/swap out the dmx cable going to it. Open it up, check your hoses, blow them out and run water through them, and make sure all the connections do have cable...

    Future of Theatrical Power Sources

As we start to progress to a less power hungry systems, I am wondering if there will be a need for more UPS’s, surge protection, and how we are going to be communicating with the power before fixtures. This thought came about after a matinee today, when we lost power for an hour or so.I am...

    Rosco I-Cue mirror problems

Well it’s working properly now. Apparently I just needed a day off... something tells me it’s going to die at some point relatively soon. Now to start setting aside money for the replacement.

    Rosco I-Cue mirror problems

I have an IQ mirror that is not behaving as it should (the rest of them on the rig are). Every so often it gives a slight tick movement. I’ve tried running it by itself, completed the 4 pin loop, the dmx line is terminated, turned it off and on again. Dmx speed is slowed down as far as it can go...

    Design EL Wire

    Design EL Wire

Thanks Jim, with option 1 that you listed, what would the general life expectancy be of the inverters in your experience. 3x3M length are currently planned on the costume. As well, anyone have experience using the USB (5v) power inverters on the EL Wire? And would going 5v instead of 12v...

    Design EL Wire

I’m about to wire q costume with EL wire and it is my first time using it. As they all use a battery inverter, I’m going to assume that using an RC4 wireless dimmer is out of the question (even more so with the full wireless bridge not in production anymore).*Correction RC4 is compatible, see...

How do you store and organize your LED tape stock?

If I'm able to get it off the set piece I installed it on without any force, I will store it on an old cable reel near my solder station. As binning is a huge problem with low end tape, I will never use old tape on a new project that requires more than a whole reel. Solid color tape is another...

    RC4 Wireless 2-dim Prop

As an experienced RC4 user I suggest getting some key info before getting too deep in the project. How long is the item going? How bright is the object (is it used for lighting the scene or is it glowing)? How big is the item that you are putting the electronics and will this prop be easily...

    Radiance Hazer Problem

Once you have cleaned one of these it will take you 10 minutes top (after it has cooled off). I suggest turning it off, opening the machine up, removing the heat/insulation guard with a pair of pliers, stop there and go for your meal break. When you get back then you shouldn’t burn your hands...

    Labelling

We had a previous thread on labelling gobos, but as the new season is starting, how are others labelling gobo holders and accessories as they typically change what they are labelled as. Currently, I'm using board tape and a sharpie. Looking at some chalk labels and a chalk pen for my...
