Janell, I sent it in last week and it sounds like it is finished. I got an email from Rosa asking for payment info for return shipping. My Accounts Payable person is out today. Thanks for all of your help. I'm looking forward to getting it back in service.
I removed the splitter from the signal chain and everything works. Trying to get the splitter repaired. In the meantime, here is my workaround. Not exactly how I pictured it, but it works. My soldering skills leave a lot to be desired. Thanks everyone for your help!
Janell, I was able to remove the splitter from the signal chain and all worked as expected. I have started the repair process with our money person. Am I correct that it's a flat rate of $30 + shipping for repairs as opposed to a $30 bench fee with parts and labor added on top of that?
Um, yeah, internal fuse, sure, I checked that. No, I didn't. If the fuse were blown it would seem to me that the splitter would be dead in the water. I can still grab the fixtures, control the intensity and change colors. But they flash.
This is a better look at the connectors from their website. I tried simply unplugging but they didn't come loose. I didn't want to break anything by using too much force. Probably lost my Man Card on that one.

Janell,Thanks for the reply. I'm a bit out of my element (band teacher who stumbled into an auditorium gig). I haven't figured out how to get the terminal block to release. What's the trick?
OK. DMX straight out of the board into the wall (no network). In my dimmer closet there is Doug Fleenor Isolated Splitter. DMX into it (I'm assuming straight cable run from the control booth). Three branches from the splitter to stage left, upper fly and FOH electric catwalk. All three branches...
Thanks! Unfortunately, the in/outs of the splitter are not XLR. I suppose I could jury rig something but that is stretching my skill set a bit. I don't have a spare or otherwise known good splitter, either.
My DMX fixtures are flashing randomly when connected to my 2nd universe of DMX. I have two DMX out ports on stage that come from an optical splitter. Both ports behave badly. When I plug directly into the 2nd Universe out of my Ion, everything works fine. Are there any other steps to take before...
Thanks, Matt. Strand is quickly moving to the top of my "Best Customer Service" list. Now, if we could just do something about those SL Coolbeam end caps! ;-)
Thanks for the suggestions, AudJ. I'm current at 10.8.6. I had just updated the fixture library early last week, or maybe the week before, so I'll try that again. My gut is telling me that Strand tends to not concern themselves with the more "DJ" type fixtures as opposed to more "professional"...
Total newbie here, so please don't flame me. I'm a band director who woke up one day to discover he was the "Technical Director" for the new HS auditorium. This was actually 6 years ago, and I'm finally digging into the light board beyond basic programming. I want to start working with LED RGB...
