Thanks for all the info. I will check on the class rating. It's a QSC PLX3102, but it will be a few days until I'm in the space again and can check it.
No work is ever done at the rafter level during normal building use, so I should be ok there.
I've also located the plenum version of...
It is a permanent install, but I'm trying to avoid running conduit if possible. I didn't realize speaker lines were considered high voltage. If that's the case, wouldn't the bare wire connections on the back amps be dangerous? What about just holding the end of a male 1/4" the wrong way?To...
I'm going to be installing some NL4 speaker jacks at a few locations around a new black box I'm working on. I wanted to run my thoughts by all of you and see if any red flags came up.
I will be using West Penn 226 to come off of a rack panel that will connect to my amps outputs. I want to...
Nope, I was hoping more for being able to have the two talk to each other to essentially have one board control over twice as many inputs and faders. Is that essentially what cascade is? Its something I've never had to deal with before. I wonder if I could send MIDI signals from one to the...
Currently I'm trying to figure out how I will run my signal everywhere. I am only planning on production audio at this point, and will get into comm and 70v paging/show feed later.
I essentially have 6 rooms in the building that I want to get signal to and from. I'm trying to put at least a...
Thanks for the detailed response, museav! To give you a little context, I'm currently doing a lot of research into this project, and have been for a while now. When I originally posted this question I knew I didn't have the information I needed to answer many of the questions you asked. At...
I've recently been given the opportunity to design the whole building sound system for a new black box theater space that will be used mostly for straight plays with Qlab playback of music and effects. The theater is located in an old nightclub (which is being gutted and stripped of all...
Does anyone know if exposure to Rosco stage fog (not sure of exact model) can be bad for a Countryman E6? The actor gets blasted with fog 8 times a week and is standing in it for probably 10 seconds. It's probably only as high as his face (where the mic is) for about 5 seconds. Is there any...
Hey everyone!
I looked for this among the the previous posts, but couldn't find anything.
We have finally gotten the last of our 700MHz wireless mics switched out into 500 and 600 ranges. My question is, what do you recommend we do with the old equipment? Obviously it's not legally good...
One tip that I can share is that we place a conduit clamp over the point where the connector connects to the mic, and then screw it into the deck. It blocks the fragile connector from being broken off by misplaced feet.
