ill tell you what. ive used movers on the 48/96 many times and the EASIEST way to do it is to patch the instruments onto your control channels that have the physical dimmer on the board. i.e. 15 channel mover = channels 1-60. that way you have real control and dont have to track anything...

I agree with the thought on getting full sized source fours. In our theatre dept. we use both, but we mostly use the jr.s in our blackbox theatre, with a few 50degree instruments in there to help out. You're going to get way more flex out of a full size, at the sacrifice of your money.

Well, the only use they would have would be for effects. they would be hung on a zero electric. it's for a show choir. two moving heads were nice last year, but the director wants more flashyness so I figured I can probably rent 4 scanners for the price of 2 movers.

Nathaniel - The first show went off without a hitch, i lost a lamp in a conventional during a show, but the movers worked great for special effects and all that fun stuff. Our board lost power for about 30 seconds but that was the board ops fault, she tripped the power. no problems. BUT...

I guess I have another question. If I like the instruments together using a 3 pin DMX can i still make the run to my desk using a 5 pin?

Alright, I don't want to use the XLR cable, we might have an extra DMXer laying around but just in case I run out of cable, I want to have a somewhat backup plan.
