10" Fresnels - gel frame size HELP

Hello,

So im going to be cutting gel for a production TOMORROW and it accord to me that im not positive on the gel frame size. I did do a search on here and found one thread specific to this but it was slightly confusing. Is a cut for a 10 inch fresnel 10"x10"?
Also there was a slight confusion on whether they are 8 inch or 10 inch, just to be safe, what is the cut size for a 8 inch fresnel? Is it also 10"x10"?

An 8" Fresnel will almost always take a 10"x10" frame. A 10" Fresnel will more likely be 12" x 12". The exception for both is that studio fixtures have all sorts of odd sizes and variances among brands. A 10" is much more likely to be a studio fixture, and is rated more often by wattage, 2K or 5K, than lens diameter.
