2 Glass Gobos in an Apollo Smart Move DMX

I have an Apollo Smart Move DMX gobo rotator, and installed 2 rosco glass gobos in it. It works just fine, but won't load into the iris slot in the ellipsoidal. The gobos are a smidgen too thick. Is this normal? Do I have to use Apollo glass gobos? If I take one out, it fits.

What model of ellipsoidal are you using?

In a s4 the barrel can sometimes impede the slot if it's all the way in.

Hi Devon, great question!

Several types of Rosco glass are thicker than others and have a tendency not to fit into the iris slot when two are placed within a gobo rotator. As Hobbsies mentioned, be sure the barrel is not adjusted all the way into the fixture, as this will impede the use of a gobo rotator.

Are you able to flip one of the glass effects gobos 180*, or will it then rub against the other gobo?

I dont know what your design idea is if they have to counter rotate but you could also achieve a similar effect if you slide one in the regular slot with a glass gobo holder, and have the other one in the rotators.
