whats the best way to build the smokestack for anything goes.we want to build it from the floor up.it will stick up above the first deck.

I agree with avkid. Depending on the height, you'll also want to add some infrastructure. As for painting, you'll want to try and cover it with muslin, otherwise you get lines showing through the paint. And never, ever, use it in an outdoor theatre when it rains constantly. Bad experience.
