Aquafog 3300 - Not so Dry Ice

Hello All,

I am using 2 AquaFog 3300s to push Dry Ice Fog on a stage. It looks awesome with great coverage, but it is leaving moisture on the stage as much as 6 feet away from the end of the Dryer Hose. I have tried collecting the moisture at the end of the hose, but that did not fix the issue.

The moisture does dry up in about five minutes, but thats five minutes with actors running around onstage.

Any suggestions?

Dry ice does that if your building is humid. The dry ice is not changing into a liquid, instead the dry ice smoke is cooling your floor causing water vapor in the air to condense on your floor. Get the humidity out of the air and that should help, however there is no way to totally get rid of the problem. This is the reason that dry ice heavy shows like TSO use carpet on their stage.

We had the same issue with our Liquid Nitrogen Fogger, which replaced our dry ice machines. It was cold enough to freeze part of the moisture patch on the floor. At least Christmas Future, on drywall stilts, cleared that spot before it iced over! We'd send a stagehand out, in blacks with a black towel to wipe it as the ice pretty quickly returned to being water. It was a dark show and that became a normal normal job for run crew.
