Chamsys command delay

In one of our smaller auditoriums, we have a Chamsys MagicQ MQ60 compact. For whatever reason, some of the fixtures have a noticeable delay when changing anything. The others, however, do not. The odd thing is that these fixtures have no configurable delay.

My colleague and I have tried searching online and on other forums, and have found nothing similar. Because the setup is small enough, we were able to rewire and rematch all of the fixtures, as well as remaking a show from scratch. We also updated the software to the latest version. Yet still, the delay is present. Any idea what could be going on?

Are they on a different gateway than the lights with no delay? Or if it's out of the console, can you swap the DMX port?

Are the fixtures connected directly to the 5-pin DMX outputs of the console or running through any Network nodes?

They’re all connected through 5-pin dmx. They’re the only fixtures on the console that have this issue, though. The house lighting and stage wash are fine.

I have tried different ports on the console, but the same problem exists.

This feels like it could be an M speed issue. Is it only one light, or one type of light? Is the delay for all atributes or only Pant/Tilt?

No, it’s all attributes. The two fixtures that are having issues are Chauvet DJ Intimidator trios and ColorBAND Pix-Ms. The delay is most noticeable when you change the intensity with @.

Well, we fixed it. Turns out it was a combination of factors. Firstly, one of the fixtures had been changed to the wrong address. Second, the worst of the fixtures had a dimming delay applied. Third, we had a bad Opto-Branch that was causing delays on certain channels. Not sure how it was possible, but we took out our tester thing and saw significant delay between the console outputting changes and the changes coming out of the Opto. Anyways, it’s fixed now and the console was not the problem.
