Cleaning Rear Projection screens

In my facility, we have a RP cyc and 17x20 projection screen made of PVC? that have both been excreting an oil that is collecting dust and fibers. Is it safe to clean with soapy water?

Your screen manufacturer will usually have cleaning instructions. I recommend looking that up first. In general, yes a very mild soap solution should work.

Now, my question to you is if this is hanging all the time or do you strike it when not in use? If you do strike it, I highly recommend that you have a clean ground cloth to put under it and not let it hit the floor. RP will, as you know, show all blemishes and dust.
