Automated Fixtures Design Spot 575e Music Mode

Hello, I have a M7CL sound board at my school and a NSI 24/48 . I want to run a midi cable from the sound board to the light board to activate the "Music Control" DMX Trait on my Design Spots. What I have set up now is is Opti Tri Pars with built in Mic's for Sound Control, but I don't know how to get the Design Spots to react to sound. Any suggestions?

You're describing two different things. The fixtures have a "sound active" mode in which they will react randomly to ambient sound. You just set the mode on the fixture and go. Midi can be used to control the lighting console which can control any function of the lights. Midi programming can be difficult and time-consuming.
Which one of these are you trying to do?

Some additional information - MIDI doesn't carry audio, and the M7 has pretty minimal ability to control things with MIDI anyway. The M7 can trigger a scene you've preprogrammed possibly, but the M7 isn't going to provide any information about the music through MIDI.

0-19 Color change normal
20-39 Color change to any position 40-59 Lamp on
60-79 Lamp switch off
80-84 All motor reset
85-87 Scan motor reset
88-90 Colors motor reset
91-93 Gobo motor reset
94-96 Shutter & Dimmer motor reset 97-99 Other motor reset
100-119 Internal program 1
120-139 Internal program 2
140-159 Internal program 3
160-179 Internal program 4
180-199 Internal program 5
200-219 Internal program 6
220-239 Internal program 7
240-255 Music Control (scene of Program 1)

When I select that trait and play music with the light on, it doesn't respond to sound.

Is there anything programmed into Internal program 1? It looks like when channel 24 is at full, it will execute the scene in program 1 when it detects sound.

Not that I know of. If I can't control that from the lighting board, then I have not programmed it, Do I need to program this program using the LCD screen on the light itself?
