Believe it or not, this is the fifth major update of ControlBooth in the past 16 years. This new version is more mobile friendly, and brings the site up to more modern standards. There will be more features rolling out soon, but the core of the site is done.
All fun and games until we start finding glitter in our salmon 5 or 10 years from now. People are being advised not to use even small amounts in their makeup, since it gets into the water cycle. Maybe treat it as hazardous waste.
Generally the way these are activated is a spring loaded pin to puncture the nitrogen cartridge. There is no pyro. However there is still a lot of force involved with the sudden release of that cartridge so it should be a effect with safety protocols and a large cleaning fee... i guarantee you will have random confetti fall from somewhere during the middle of your next 3 performances... and then another 6 months from now.
Agreed. At the end of July we had a show (only 4 performances) using handheld fetti cannons - a single smallish one, about 18". After each show the stage was vacuumed clean, and after that show came down we went dark for a month and took down the rig for cleaning and testing, and put it all back a month later. We are still having occasional pieces of confetti appear from who knows where.
