DMX Signal Interferance

This may be off topic, but what good is a smoke machine in the booth?

I would say it would make calling the show a lot more fun for the SM.

What does that stand for and what relation is it to PFTD (Pulse Fired Transformer Dimming) that achieves the same thing and allows us to do anything with our dimmers?
IPS is Gordon Pearlmans, Intelligent Power System, originally produced by Entertainment Technology, and now Genlyte - E.T. . J'en C'est Pas the PFTD, IPS uses IBGT's. The rest of the supprting circuits make the IPS capable of "Sensing" the required power. IPS also has the ability to shut down, in the event of a dead short, as fast as a GFCI. Ips is also capable of dimming on the falling side of tha sine wave.

AVKID. You mentioned a consumer remote outlet ??? You don't mean one of those zipcord things where you plug in the wall, plug in electrical device, and then have little rotary switch in your hand to turn it on and off with, do you ?
No, we have some old Radio Shack home automation remote outlets, I cant find any of them on their website any longer. This is the nearest thing that resembles it:

Ours have 3 prong Edison plugs rated at 12 amps I think.
