DSR112 versus ETX-12P

I do portable sound for a few events a year. I've been using a pair of Mackie SRM450 (v1), and they are fine in terms of SPL and coverage, but aren't the most pleasant sounding. I'm willing to spend more for quality. Weight and size are considerations for lifting and hauling. I'm hoping to stay at or under 50 lbs and the competing JBLs are too far off that mark.

My list is narrowing to the Yamaha DSR112 and the Electro-Voice ETX-12P. The Yamahas have been around for years, so they have a lot of fans. The EVs are relatively new products, so they don't get mentioned much. The Yamahas are a few pounds lighter but only have one, awkward handle. The EVs are smoother, but the but the Yamahas have a bigger HF driver.

I plan on adding subs for some types of events. The DSR subs don't seem to measure up, so I'm leaning toward the ETX sub, regardless of choice for tops.

Comments about your experiences with them would be appreciated.
