Control/Dimming ETC Express 12V Lamp Not Working

Hey guys,

So we went to run a show about a week after a previous one, and realized that both the 12V lamp outputs on our Express 72/144 weren't working anymore. Additionally, the used RFU that we purchased wasn't turning on either. That being said, the lamps were perfectly operational the previous week.

Prior to plugging in the lamps this week, our operator accidentally powered on the RFU first, and then plugged it into the ETCLink outlet rather than the RFU outlet. It was after this that we found neither the RFU or the lamps worked.

We looked at the 1.5A fuse, and it appeared to be perfectly fine.

Any suggestions?

How did he manage to get the Rfu plug into the EtcLink hole they are two different ends. The Rfu prolly has a broken pin. The lamps I got nothing besides the fuse or the actual lamp itself. Could just be coincidence that they burned out same time he plug it into the wrong port.

The connectors for RFU and ETCLink are the same and plugging one into the other should not cause problems, other than not working correctly. I agree that it would be wise to meter the fuse for continuity. Other than that, it is possible that the 12vdc section of the power supply is bad or there are broken PSU pins. Look at the male pins on the power supply connector to see that they are all there [especially on the small connector consoles] and then make sure it is fully seated into the console.

Let us know what you find,

David
