Follow spot recommendation

I have a school looking for a new follow spot. I know the Altman comet is good bang for buck, but also want to provide a second option that is brighter. I’ve used the Lycian HMI midget, but the price is significantly higher. Any suggestions for a brighter unit more in the $3k range?

In that range - test the Lycian ZOT. You really should try for LED. No lamps top replace, cooler, probably longer lasting.

LED only if it's a VERY high CRI (>95) White LED source. If it's a lower CRI source (<90), or RGBxx (or multi-color) chip to create white- STAY AWAY FROM IT. You'll be unhappy with how it renders color on clothing/costumes and skin.
