The job I'm most likely to be doing on a production if I'm not directing is audio, and wearing both audio and PL headsets is, as you can probably imagine, close to impossible.
I'm considering getting an HMD280, and putitng an XLR 5F on it, and then building either some pigtails or a splitter box that will allow me to use one side and the mic for PL, and the other side for audio -- or, if I'm really feeling froggy, stereo audio, PL mixed into one side, and dual PTT buttons for PL and audio mixer talkback.
Has anyone done this?
Would I need active components to do the earpiece pix, or would a resistive network provide enough isolation between the PL and audio? (The PL 24VDC is floating WRT facility ground anyway, isn't it?)
