Is there anyone still offering repair support for vintage Electro Controls systems? I have a client with a ballroomsystem installed in '88 (job# B-58260) that has several blown control cards.
When you say "Blown" what exactly are you referring to?
I just recently rebuilt a 96 channel rack and almost every card except one had control issues that were all traced back to cracked solder joints or bad Opto Isolator IC's on the outputs. Saved the client Thousands with just a few dollars in parts and some time with a soldering iron.
What model of dimmer and or cards are you dealing with?
You could also try Johnson Systems Inc. They build retrokits for EC dimmers but good luck getting ahold of them. I tried for two weeks and failed. I think they need a to build a retrofit kit for their Cutomer service.
I've never had a problem reaching Johnson Systems. In fact, they've always replied to emails within one day and their handling of repairs extremely responsive. No problems reaching them by phone either. I have used many of their E-C specific retrofit products and they are top notch in every respect. Expensive but save the customer thousands of dollars so well worth it. Just my experience.
