Design Light a set piece the has a ceiling.

I need to light a space inside a set piece that has a ceiling.
Approx 4m wide and 6m deep.
Any advice on getting a inside a house feel and still light up the actors.
Hope I explained it well enough.

Lots of options from soft box in the ceiling panel to can lights..

Switch the rake on the ceiling so it's lower toward the audience, and higher further away (which matches the audience's sightline, anyway). Cut out a cove in the ceiling, and light through there.

Duplicate natural sunlight by lighting through the window with a very powerful light. Be aware of shadows.

Light it in a truly natural fashion, with practicals -- floor and desk lamps. Embrace the shadows.

Similar to what has been said, if the ceiling had "structural beams" you could hide small low profile lights behind them.
