lighting design

Hi i am a new lighting volunteer for my church. so i thought it would be best to come to a place were allot of others share a goal of improving and sharing knowledge. i have done sound for a few years and have enjoyed the explanation in my service.
my question is i have downloaded software off the net to design a service and am lost in the setup. can i download the current levels off the board (expression 2x) or do i need to hand input the channels to the program?

The purpose of an OLE is to allow one to create and/or edit shows and save your offline work to a media the console uses. Expression Offline cannot connect directly with a console.
If I understand your question correctly...
1. At the console, save the show onto a 3.5 HD floppy.
2. Put the floppy into your PC and "Import Show."
3. Make your changes.
4. When done, "Export" the show onto the floppy.
5. Put the floppy back into the console and "Load Show".
