Automated Fixtures Mac 700 gobos-glass or aluminum

It wouldn't work, because the colors are placed in the optical path with the least focusability for smoother color mixing. A donut has to be on the front of the fixture. I always got confused by the MAC 2000 Profile's wheel three, that has both color and gobos on it.

Plus, the arc lamp of a ML is much closer to the theoretical point source than the filament of an HPL or FEL, thus negating the need for a donut. When I get to SteveB's, we'll put stainless Jungle Leaf in gobo wheel 1, and a "flag of Japan" two-color glass gobo in gobo wheel 2, and see how that works. But it won't be the same effect as a color donut in an ERS.

Now that would be cool! Kelite, have you ever had an order to make a custom color chip that wasn't a solid color all the way through? Would you guys even be able to make a glass color filter with a lighter color on the inside of the circle? Hypothetically speaking, of course.

To be honest, years ago a large company in Japan had asked us to produce that type of filter for a large 7 1/2 inch format static wash fixture. While this wash fixture did indeed project an unusual and interesting color scheme with the filter in place, the transition between the colors was somewhat muddy as expected.
Several designs of 'Cut Dichroics' have been offered by Apollo over the years, more for designers to play with than intended for specific effects (is water, fire etc). Product Search - cut dichroics
