    Hi

I have a Martin Mania SCX600 which features interchangeable colors. Where do I buy new colors to put in? I wanna find something like a light special lavender to make the 'open' look more white and less yellowish.
    Thanks much!

You can purchase the colors from any authorized Martin dealer. ;)

What you probably want is the right color temp CTB (Color Temperature Blue) conversion filter to the CT of white that you want for the open slot.

And yes, any Martin dealer can supply you with these.

If you don't have a local dealer, send BillESC a PM. He's a Martin dealer and has always given me good prices on everything.

Ok so there are no replaceable colors I can put in to make it whiter, is something like this best? Apollo Design | MR16 Dichroic Filter Clip

Would that fit inside an SCX600? It doesn't seem like it would fit...

If not that, what else could I use?

Apollo could make a custom cut dichroic filter, probably from one of their standard dichroic colors, to fit in your SCX600s.

Ok, where does a dichroic filter go? In one of the color spots? Right above the lamp? Somewhere else inside?

Is this a good color? What would I do with that if I bought it?
    Apollo Design | CTO3

I'm new at this color and filter stuff....

It'll go in a color slot in your SCX600. You probably want something like CTB1 or CTB2. This will make the white look more white and less yellow (increase the color temperature).

They'll cut a piece of a sheet of the glass dichroic filter material to the same size as the other color filters in your SCX600.

The ELC lamp in your fixture has a color temperature of 3400K, which is just slightly bluer than most stage/studio lamps of 3200K. See Color Temperature.

Note that you will lose intensity with ANY color filter. Before committing to a custom glass dichroic filter, try temporarily taping a piece of ApolloGel #2000, #2020, or 2040 (or another manufacturer's Full CTB, 1/2 CTB, or 1/4 CTB), over the lens, or wrap the whole light path in it, being careful not to interfere with the movement of the mirror. Once you find a Light Special Lavender or CTB you want, there's a good chance Apollo will have something close in their stock Dichroic Colors and can make it to whatever size you need. However, it will not be inexpensive, considering you have a $700 fixture.
