Automated Fixtures Moving light maintenance question

My one of my Designspot 575Es has a squeaky iris. It chirps like a hungry canary when used. This is driving me up the wall, but the director likes it because it happens during the scene in Into the Woods when the she-giant gets her eyes pecked out by birds.

Go figure.

I've also got a squeaky shutter in another one of them which i haven't told the director about, she'd probably want me to add it to the same cue.

So the question is, what lubricant is safe to use for this kind of thing?

Good old graphite pencil works pretty good too!

neither of them is sticking at all, they just chirp on every open/close.

Sounds like taking a graphite stick to them is the easiest way, since I already have one of those in my kit.
