Need Help programming LEDs

Hi guys,

I'm working on a show requiring the use of the new individually controlled LEDs and have absolutely no idea on how to use them. I've got them wired up and connected with DMX but I am unsure as to how and what they are patched as. The specific IC type is ws2812B. I am using an ETC Ion Console. Any help is appreciated, as the internet has been no help thus far.

How many do you have? They look like just generic RGB would work for patch type, but if you have a bunch a pixel map could be fun....

I have a single strip. 1 meter long. I tried just patching one led to the generic without success. Yes pixel mapping would be fun.

You can build a custom profile. I didn't find a Dmx layout online, but if you couldn't either then you can turn on 1 address at a time a write down what changes to figure one out.

I'll give that a try, I just don't know what parameters I need. Sounds like a lot of work.

For something this simple you are probably looking at 4 or 5 addresses per fixture if that...If they are able to take a DMX signal properly. If you can get them on by address then you know they work.

I can run them from the function command on the decoder box, from the cut sheet I have discovered that the color is 24 bits of info. However, the Ion only allows me to select 8 or 16 bit color parameters.
