Been thinking about this a few days now. Assuming the neutral shell of a P-28s socket is removable or at least bolted in, wonder if the screw shell to a medium screw socket might fit and line up with the bolt holes?
Turns out the Bryant c.1957' nut on the opposing side of the P-28s socket was peened and didn’t remove so well. Neither screw removed without breaking. Had to bend the hot contact plate out of the way and make my own 4-40 square nut. Very difficult process to now bolt a replacement screw in place while holding the nut also. Once done though... medium screw part fit exactly inside the P-28s socket. Screw holes aligned perfectly etc.
Not advised to be doing but an exact fit as noted in experiment. Find this curious.
