Pacific

Pronounced PAR-sif-ic (in some places) the Pacific is a fairly unique ERS manufactured by Selecon Lighting. It looks like older non-axial ERS but is in fact an axial ERS which gives it a distinctive banana shape. The reason for the design is to allow the instrument to vent heat out of a large heat sink on the back, cooling off the rest of the instrument substantially. The Lamp and reflector are mounted at the back pointing up. They are focused on a dichroic cold mirror located at the bend in the instrument which reflects only visible light forward, allowing the heat to pass through and out the top into the heat sink. This allows users to use gobos made from plastic and not metal or glass.
