Painting a MKE1

Hello all. Trying to color in some MKE1 mics to no success thus far.
My A2 has tried different types of paint, markers, etc, but the slick
teflon coating on the wire seems to flake away everything. My next
step might be to try an emery sponge to roughen the surface, but that
seems time consuming, most likely resulting in an uneven finish, and
perhaps even potential damaging to the copper strands, despite the
kevlar cord. Anyone have any experience with MKE1's in this regard?
Any suggestions would also be appreciated. Thanks.

Sincerely,
Deniz

We use paint for pleather couches and what not. We have alot of the colors in spray and pens for touch up. Seems to work ok most of the time depending alot on actor movement.

We talked about it a little bit in this thread.

A few months later, and I still haven't found a paint that can hold onto the teflon coating of the MKE1. Unfortunately, I have only seen its popularity increase among Sound Designers and broadcasters. My paint of choice is Copic Markers and I can usually get 4 shows out of one coating.

If anyone has a successful experience with a product, I'm sure there are a few of us who would like to give it a try as well.
