Peavey Electronics Corporation, one of the largest audio equipment manufacturers in the world, was founded in 1965 by Hartley Peavey. The company is headquartered in Meridian, Mississippi, where it also manufactures many of its products. Peavey designs and manufactures a wide variety of products, including audio mixers, power amplifiers, guitar/instrument amplifiers, equalizers, and speakers. Long-time used by garage bands and amateur musicians, Peavey owns several companies, most notably Trace Elliot (guitar amplifiers) and Crest Audio (mixers and amplifiers). Its Architectural Acoustics subsidiary is well-respected for music and page applications.
