Looking at getting 14 LED Lustr 2s for a front wash. In the manual it states you can daisy 9 units together. Would I only have to swap one of my D20 Modules for an R20 to power all 14 units? Or should I spread out the units more to more circuits?
Correct. Each R20 module contains two independent 20A circuits, each good with up to 9 Lustrs. Only reason to split up more is for convenience of cabling to multiple positions.

Reading the fine print, you can power a maximum of 9 through one. So 10 on a single receptacle.
If you had two receptacles paralleled on same 20 amp circuit, you could for instance power to strings of 7. I would not recommend it because of inrush possibly, just possibly, tripping the breaker at turn on. 12 I might do in a pinch if stakes we're not too high - no box office I was depending on and would not want to refund. Your 7 on each half is a very good plan.
IIRC it's the power in patch cord that is the limitation of 9.
