Sanyo XF47, turn off or not?

Anything longer than a 1 hour meal break and I turn off projectors. That's based on no sort of scientific answer, it's just what I have always done. I know a lot of people have similar guidelines for arc source moving lights.

General rule of thumb that I use is one hour. Of course, it depends on the environment that the projector is being used in. On a production where I have had to align multiple projectors or require a very tight focus, I will often leave the projector on (does not seem to be the case for you). If the projector is ceiling mounted and there is a buildup of heat around the projector, then that is something to consider as well.

Generally, each lamp strike takes one to four hours off the life. I'd follow the same rules for other gaseous discharge lamps for the 330W NSH: If it's not going to be used for more than one hour, turn it off. Otherwise, leave it burn.
