Stair stringers and treads?

I have a tendency to overbuild stairs. Most of that is due to working on Habitat builds. I usually use 2 x 12 for stringers. Treads are "negotiable", but I usually use 2 x 12 - that way I don't have to worry about them having a nose. I can use a rounding bit on my router. My stairs are usually heavy. For a 40" W stairs, I have 3 stringers. Rise is usually 7 1/2", run is 10" and nose sticks out 1 1/4". Escape stairs are usually less.

I was wondering what y'all did. Do you use 2 x 12s or what? How many stringers?

2x10 and for a standard 40" 3 stringers. 1x for the treads and kicks
