Thoughts for mechanisms to lift the lid?

"Murder Room" Act 2; Part 2 - YouTube

We'll be doing "The Murder Room". The boss saw the above video and would like for our lid to go up and down in a similar way.

About all I can figure is 50 pound line (or greater). Any other ways to duplicate this effect?

Got a piece of angle iron (of sorts) that was 3/4" x 3/4" x 3'. Rabbeted an edge about 1/8" and screwed it to the side of the lid. Works fine after I wrapped the end with a rag and some gaff tape.

She is activating something because her right foot hits that wall everytime she reaches up for the hook either it was a stage hand with a cue light and a stick or a small pneumatic that she is stepping on. But this one looks like a stick with the inconsistency of the way it keeps coming down.
