Urgent Marley question

We are installing a dance floor in our new studio space today. I've never dealt with brand-new Marley before an I have a question. The floor (Rosco brand, black on both sides) is smooth on one side and ever so slightly pebbled on the reverse. Which side is up?

Thanks
Marshall

... Which side is up?
Whichever is on the INSIDE of the roll,
OR,
Personal preference--use whichever side you like better.

The last time I used a Rosco dance floor (that I know of) was thirty years ago and specifically a black/gray reversible. I don't recall a difference in texture, only the color.

I would put the smooth side up. A local dance company bought a new floor and the surface has a slightly rough texture and the dancers all hated it. You could always contact rosco and see what they say.

When we last had a new dance group with their new Marley, the rough side went down. Smooth side up.

Thanks for the input, all. When we were unrolling the bulk rolls to cut, there was a sticker on the very end of the second roll on the smooth side that said "this side down," so we went with that. The dean seems to be happy with it, so that works for me!

Thanks again.
