We own a Nicopress brand swaging tool. Now, as we all know, to properly use such a tool, one needs the proper go/no-go gauge. For a while we were using wire rope clips, but since they really aren't ideal and rather easy to screw up, we have been shifting to using sleeves. I've been searching most of the afternoon for a theatrical supplier, or any supplier really, who stocks Nicopress go/no-go gauges. EVERYONE has the Loos & Co brand gauges, but technically, due to variations between manufacturers, the gauge, crimper and sleeves all must be made by the same manufacturer to ensure proper performance. Why is it so hard to find someone with a Nicopress gauge?
Now before you tell me to, I've already been contacting the major suppliers (Sapsis, etc) as well as Nicopress to find more info on obtaining the proper gauge. I just had to vent a bit on the journey.
