    Safety Glasses

Last time I went to Pearl for a new prescription, I couldn't find any conventional "designer" frames that were less than $150 in a style I liked. On a lark, I asked about their safety frames. Bingo - $99 in precisely the style I like. The lenses were only slightly more expensive. Took advantage...

    Wireless 700 MHz microphone interference?

What's wrong with saying "700MHz" it's in the thread title.. what's with the math exercise as censorship?

    Spacing between lights and ceiling

Re: Hanging lighting pipe I think you also need a plan for how to get up in the air safely to hang and focus. One idea to consider would be rigging it with wire rope, so the pipe can be dropped to working height.

    Design Mirrors!!

The only time a mirror should be on stage, is if the show directly calls for it. Then we use a picture-frame style mirror. When we tried hair spray, it dried to a micro-pebble-glass texture, like on bathroom glass, just not as bumpy.. it just looked all distorted. The actress needing to use...

    Looking for mystery sound effect...

Played it out as-is last night at rehearsal. Everyone liked it enough, director and the actors.BTW, my favorite audio app is Goldwave.

    Looking for mystery sound effect...

Making it deeper isn't the trick. What the director and I had in mind goes down in pitch for each note... if I could record us humming it, would that help?

    Looking for mystery sound effect...

You know that sound effect they play in a mystery (especially when comedic) when the plot suddenly thickens? "Dun-Dun Dunnnhh"? Yeah... trying to search for that in the usual sound effect places, but coming up with a searchable description for that is rather difficult. Anyone have an idea...

    Backdrop Vinyl

For a couple shows, we've needed to represent that a garden was beyond a doorway. I found a relatively cheap ($70 on eBay) 5 foot x 8 foot photographer's backdrop printed on vinyl. It's not glossy like the vinyl banners printed at kinkos.Only major problem I had with the backdrop effect was...

Seat Allocation Business Rules - Ticketing

A suggestion, on our ticket reservation page, I let the patron choose general seating preferences, such as in the middle, to either side, on an aisle, near the front, near the back, etc. It's just a form input through sendmail, we still have a human setting up the seating charts...

Okay, so what DO you want?

Grog12 - That's a pretty good idea. The simple part is making the whole screen a particular color. The difficult part is translating gel color to RGB color... and then more so, adjusting it for the color temp of each individual device.Would you settle for an app that took a pic of a subject...

    Theatre Database Help!

Suggestions - Allow user-defined categories. "Props" is rather broad. In our Prop room, we have furniture, stage dressings, hand-props, weapons, lumber and purpose-built set pieces, like a coal fireplace for "A Christmas Carol". Allow user-defiend tags or sub-categories to refine searching...

    Electronic Prompt Book

Wow... very good article... They're closer to having eBook versions, which means they're open to the idea. But not necessarily interactive scripts like we're envisioning....
