So a friend of mine saw this the other day, I was wondering what kind of board is this and what type of space was it used in
Isn't it odd to see those 'slide patch' pcs on the top?Its a custom stage manager's panel. Probably on stage. I'd guess the switches were for cue lights and the faders for house, but they were all one of a kind.
I designed and specified a lot from when I started in 1982 but stopped more or less about 10 or so years ago and just went to touch screens and maybe some standard Paradigm (then Unison) stations in a panel. Now I'm likely to use one or more touch screens.
Somebody who admits to knowing about 23" racks: How young are you @JonCarter?Bill & Van, gotta disagree w/you on this one. The "slide patch" on the top looks like a 6-slider Davis dimmer mounted on its side. I'd guess that the six switches are for the 6 circuits and the 6 breakers above the switched are the OCP for those 6 circuits. Judging by the 2"(?) flex from the wall j-box to the rack, there's a bunch of line voltage 20A circuits in there. And since it's all assembled in what look like Bud Radio enclosures (19" rack panels & desk on the console and a 23" rack panel box on top) it looks kinda home-made. (No, I didn't build this one but have made similar.)
