Alice in Wonderland, rabbit costume feet

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew some techniques of making feet in costumes. I am working on the white rabbit and hare for Alice right now. I want to have nice big rabbit feet but not sure what to use for the bottom so the actor does not slip on stage.

If you get a chance do a google search for the TV show "How it's Made" see if you can find the episode where they do Mascots. It's a great episode and shows a step by step of how they go about building the feet for all sorts of mascot costumes. I'd be happy to try and relate it, but honestly I'd probably leave out something, or it would come out as extremely confusing.

I tried the Science channel and it wasn't on their site so I had to go looking, wanted to make sure it was " how's it's made" that I had seen it on.
BTW I LOVE this show !
