Hello, I am doing grayscale makeup and hair for a silent film costume. I am trying to pull of a very soft feminine look (think Lillian Gish, not Clara Bow) so I am going to do a late 1910s look for my hair with curls. I am also going to wear a suffragette hat so only the bottom portion of the hair will be visible. I have read Ben Nye hair color (brush in type) is the most realistic and will not stain clothes (very important as I am wearing a real 1920s black blouse) BUT I am just wondering if it is possible to apply to hair that has been curled and still retain the curl. I am assuming you can not curl hair after the application. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge that could help? I could do a spray, but the flaking worries me as well as it just not looking as real. Thanks for any help you can give!
