CD80 Dimmer Fans

Hey guys and gals. So we have a CD80 Strand Century Dimmer Rack with a retro fit CD80 Supervisor and the fan runs continuously (often loud) with no input.

We've turned off the Power Source and turned it back on, checked the fuses and they are in working condition, and we are about to clean out the filter which may or may not be the cause.

I would love to hear your input on this matter. It just seems odd to us that even though the Light board is turned off, the fan runs long and quite audible.

We have cleaned the filter a bit, panic mode is not engaged, and we are in variation and not fixed fan mode. We are still searching for the problem.

The fans on all of our CD80 racks run 24/7 as far as I know.

I have several CD80 racks in my building and I have never been able to figure out exactly when or why the fans run. Sometimes they run at full with nothing on, sometimes they don't. I know it's not random, but it sure seems that way

If you have a CD80 Sv or CD80sv retrofit, you should be able to set the fan speed. You can set it to be variable, or run constantly.

See page 85 of this manual for info, and page 81 for the button presses to change the fan setting. The page numbers listed are the ones printed on the page, not the PDF page numbers.
