I've experienced these slipping much easier than cheeseboroughs on steel->steel connections. They are definitely the go-to when working with aluminium truss, however.
I still have an old bin of scaffold clamps for the odd occasion when we are doing scaffolding work. For pipe or truss, it is *always* cheeseboroughs. The scaffold clamps are too easy to not get tight enough, and can do some pretty nasty damage to aluminum truss.
