Vintage Lighting Help me to identify this unit

One of my co-workers brought this in today, it was being tossed out at a small community theater she works at. None of us here could identify this unit, however, out of shear curiosity we would all like to know what it is now.

It is not your normal black light.

can you show us the connector?

Looks a bit like an old "sunlamp" I used to have. Maybe someone brought it in to use as a UV lamp, unaware of the safety issues?

There are a bunch of similar units in this collection
